WWE Music

Whether you”re talking about WWW Music or specifically WWE music downloadsWWE Theme Songs can date its origins back to the WWF. Different incarnations of these WWE Theme Songs have been around practically since the beginning of wrestling (these are available for WWE music download) - but the WWF started producing albums back in 1985 and the album was simply called “The Wrestling Album”. There was a group anthem called “Land of a Thousand Dances” recorded by a majority of their roster – this was also turned into a music video. It took another 8 years before WWE Music Group or WWE Records would release another album – in 1993 they introduced WrestleMania: The Album. Neither album had much commercial success. Finally in 1996 a different approach was taken that would catch the vast legions of fans’ interests. By mixing intro music and mixing in compilations by various rappers the next set of albums containing these WWE Theme Songs (started by WWF Full Metal and then WWF The Music 2, 3 & 4 became a phenomenon). Albums began to flourish. WWE Aggression was followed by WWE The Music 5 which debut on Billboard 200 at position #2. Big time artists’ collaborations and an ever increasing fan base led to a very successful branding of Music by the WWE.

Famous WWE Music anthems produced:

“Real American” is the most famous if not the most memorable of all the wrestlers anthems. While this was not originally Hulk Hogan’s  first choice (he started out using Eye of the Tiger from his appearance in Rocky 3). He switched soon thereafter to his fans’ great content. The song became synonymous with Hulkamania and fans eveWWE logo WWE Musicrywhere continue to cheer to it. Truly this is one theme song that as long as there are wrestling fans we will all cheer when “Real American” is played.

It has been claimed by Sgt. Slaughter that he was the one who suggested to Vince McMahon to begin using entrance songs since he wanted to try the “Marine Hymn” but in the very early days of professional wrestling Gorgeous George was known to enter at times to “Pomp and Circumstance”.

Other very famous pieces of WWE Music have been used with The Undertaker using themes which resemble a funeral march and the Blues Brothers following their own brand of southern twang.

Many other great entrance songs come to mind by The Rock, The Peoples Champ John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Batista, Triple H and of course Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The music sets the stage for the raw action that’s about to begin. Each with a little flair matching their ring persona they add a little intimidation to the person across the ring. The phenomenon that started as the World Wrestling Federation and has morphed into the WWE has taken a life of its own and the music that accompanies it is as big a part of this phenomenon as the colorful characters and bone crushing action we all crave to see.

The corporate entity known as World Wrestling Entertainment is publicly traded but privately managed. The McMahon family owns nearly all of the controlling interest of the company’s operations. With its global headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut there also are offices in Los Angeles, New York, London, Toronto and Sydney, Australia.
